The Inspiration Behind My Books

The Jaguar God Awakens & Last Dawn on Macaw Mountain: Exploring the Mysteries of Mesoamerica
When I set out to write fiction, I knew I wanted to immerse readers in a world rich with history, culture, and adventure. My inspiration? The incredible experiences I had while living in Guatemala and exploring the Mayan ruins of Central America.
History has always fascinated me, but the stories of the Maya people—their ancient traditions, lost kingdoms, and remarkable resilience—captivated me in a way I never expected. Their civilization was one of great achievements, from their advanced knowledge of astronomy to their stunning architectural feats. Yet, their history is also filled with mystery, myth, and conflict.
That’s where my books come in. The Jaguar God Awakens and Last Dawn on Macaw Mountain transport readers to a time when the Maya civilization was at a turning point. Through my characters, I explore themes of destiny, sacrifice, and survival—set against the breathtaking backdrop of the jungle, sacred temples, and the ever-present spirits of the past.
Writing these stories has been an incredible journey of research, discovery, and imagination. I hope that when you read them, you’ll not only be entertained but also gain a deeper appreciation for the rich history and enduring spirit of the Maya people.
